Binds

Postby Tillidus » Mon Oct 26, 2015 6:19 am

Hi, I need help with just one thing.
Is it possible that I can bind more keys on one bind?
For example: I want to say Cheer in voice chat.
I know how to bind just one key on keyboard, but I want to bind V G C.
I tried this:
/bind v g c"vsay Cheer Yeah!"
It didn't worked.
Can you help me? :)

tillidus only one bind can be in the key board see this

Text binds
One of the possibilities for creating binds is pressing a key and writing a text in main chat or team chat.
It could be useful to tell your team mates quickly what is going on, but sometimes you want everyone in game to see what you want to say.
There is a difference in telling them. Next examples will show you how you could use them:

/bind m “say_team Watch it, there are tripmines around the object!”

If you press m after setting this bind, you are sending a message to your team only

/bind m “Hello all, I have to go. Thank you for the great games!”

If you press m after setting this bind, you are sending a message in the main game chat

Coloured text binds
To make your text binds somewhat more fancy, you can use coloured text binds. To use colours in your text, you have to mark where the colour should start. There is no such thing as telling where the colour should stop. The way to do that is telling to use another colour.
Colours can be made using a ^ sign combined with a letter or number. Here are some examples:

/bind m “^1Red Text ^7White Text ^4 Dark blue text”

This will show you something like:

Red Text White Text Dark blue text

/bind m “^1R^8A^3I^2N^4B^5O^6W”

This will show you something like:

RAINBOW

As you can see there are a lot of colours available.
Here is a list of all possible colours:

1234567890abcdefghijklmnopqrstuvwxyz/*–+?@><
1234567890abcdefghijklmnopqrstuvwxyz/*–+?@><
1234567890abcdefghijklmnopqrstuvwxyz/*–+?@><

Sound binds
Another possibility for creating binds is pressing a key and playing a in game sound.
For doing that, we have to use the command vsay, which tells the server to play a sound.
Creating a vsay bind to the key m will look like the following:

/bind m “vsay GreatShot”

If you press m after setting this bind, your character will say the GreatShot sound

/bind m “vsay_team DestroyPrimary”

If you press m after setting this bind, your character will tell the team to destroy the primary objective.

There are some usefull default sounds in game. The names of those sounds says it all:

iammedic

Using variables in binds
Sometimes it is useful to create a bind which is containing certain variables. Here is a list of variables (shrub chat shortcuts) which you can use, followed by some examples:

[a] – last person who gave you ammo
[d] – last person who killed you
[h] – last person who gave you health
[k] – last person you killed
[l] – your current location
[n] – your name
[r] – last person who revived you
[p] – team mate you are pointing at
[s] – your health
[w] – weapon you are currently holding
[t] – ammo for current weapon

/bind m “Damn [d]! Great shot!”

/bind m “say_team Thank you for the medpacks, [h]”

Changing classes
There is also a possibility to create binds to change class in the game.
As you may know, there are 5 classes in the game. Each class is represented by a letter:

m – medic
e – engineer
f – field ops
s – soldier
c – covert ops

If you want to change class using binds, you also need to tell the same bind what kind of gun you would like to use. Not all weapons are available for all classes as you know. Here is a list of classes showing the numbers corresponding to a certain weapon:

Medic
1 – MP40 / Thompson

Engineer
1 – MP40 / Thompson
2 – Rifle

Field Ops
1 – MP40 / Thompson

Soldier
1 – MP40 / Thompson
2 – Mobile MG42
3 – Flamethrower
4 – Panzerfaust
5 – Mortar

Covert Ops
1 – Sten
2 – Sniper 1
3 – Sniper 2

Now it is time to create binds which helps you changing class:

/bind m “class m 1?

This bind will make sure you will become a medic with a MP40 / Thompson

/bind m “class e 2?

This bind will make sure you will become an engineer with a Rifle

/bind m “class s 5?

This bind will make sure you will become a soldier using a Mortar. We guess this bind will be used by ParaTrooper a lot ??

Switching teams

/bind m “team r”
/bind m “team b”
/bind m “team s”

These binds will get you in team r(ed) = Axis, team b(lue) Allies or the s(pectators)

Combined binds

/bind m “vsay GreatShot Well done [d]! ^8I wil kill you with my ^3[w] ^8 soon!”
/bind f “vsay_team NeedAmmo ^4Sh*t!!! ^1Out of ammo! ^1Only ^6[t] ^1ammo left!”

m is just for example

If I understood well, you want to bind "cheer" on more than 1 key ?

Just repeat the command for the 2 keys.

It would be :

bind v "vsay cheer Yeah !"
bind g "vsay cheer Yeah !"
bind c "vsay cheer Yeah !"

If you want, you can create a toggle bind which would change the place of the key.

Here's an exemple. The toggle key will be F12.

Default your cheer bind is on the V key. If you press F12, it will delete the V bind and put it on G. If you press the toggle again it will remove C and bind G.

I can make the script if you want, just let me know :)

So there can be just one key on one bind?
Because I want to bind a lot of voice chat commands and I think I won't remember all
keys.

Ok thanks :)
